Open Day

Thursday 4 October 2012- 9.15am to 11.15am
Presentation by Mrs Macnair, our Headmistress, at 9.30am

An Oaklands Open Morning is a normal working morning that provides an opportunity for prospective parents to gain a real sense of what Oaklands has to offer their children. Tours of the school are guided by our Year 6 children who will tell you what life at Oaklands is like from a pupil's point of view. It is also an opportunity to meet the Headmistress, members of staff and current parents informally over refreshments.  Parents of current pupils may also come to re-acquaint themselves with our new facilities and to see what we offer the older children.

Parking is available in the surrounding roads and access to the site is gained via two entrances; Lower Gate on the High Road and Upper Gate on Albion Hill. Please allow extra time to find a good parking space and be mindful of our neighbours' driveways when parking. We are a short walk from Loughton town centre where there are many public car parks.

Although the school is on a hill with some steps, there is a ramp for buggies that can also be left outside the main hall.  Our guides will help you.

While official Open Mornings are held in October and March each year,  Oaklands welcomes personal visits throughout the academic year. These offer a tour of the school and the chance to meet some of the staff and pupils, followed by a discussion about your child's education with our Headmistress.

We recommend that children are registered on our waiting lists at birth as there is considerable pressure for places.  However, places do occasionally become available during the year so it's worth coming along to see us and registering after.

Please contact our Admissions Registrar, Mrs Lynam, if you would like to arrange a personal visit or attend the next Open Morning, which will take place on Thursday 4 October.

We hope to meet you soon.
