Vision & Ethos

Oaklands School lives up to its motto 'E Pluribus Unum'.  Pupils and staff retain their individuality but all take pride in maintaining the friendly, family atmosphere that encourages care and consideration for each other.  We value the contribution that parents make to the education of your children, for they too are important parts of the School.  Parents are always welcome to come and discuss their children's progress and there are many events during the year that they are encouraged to attend.

We cultivate an excellent atmosphere of mutual respect, friendliness and good behaviour, all of which encourage children to achieve their potential both in their academic studies and in their broader personal development.  Emphasis is placed on the core subjects in preparation for the requirements of the various entrance examinations that they may have to take at age 11.

School Ethos
The unique character and spirit of Oaklands is its most valuable asset.

Within an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness and openness and through our unique setting and traditional family approach, we encourage all pupils in independent thought, creativity, curiosity and love of learning. We believe that all our children should experience equal opportunities through a broad education that aims for excellence.

We believe that praise is important and that every child should feel valued. We teach respect for others and our surroundings and understanding of right and wrong, so that our pupils may become valued members of the community. Our shared purpose is to enable children to fulfil their potential by working together for the benefit of each other.
