Oaklands finish 7th best in the whole of Essex at SportsHall Athletics Finals

On the hottest day of the year so far, filled with glorious sunshine, we were stuck inside a sports hall! Nonetheless, the children were competing in the Essex SportsHall Athletics Finals for the very first time having finished in the top 2 at the regional event a few weeks back.

They speed bounced, long jumped, chest threw and ran among many other events to try and score as many points as they could in the track and field programme.

The races were so exciting and every single one of the pupils attending can be extremely proud of their efforts, as all of Oaklands are!

Final results were;

1^st – St Teresas: 664 points

2^nd – St Josephs: 652 points

3^rd – St Marys: 604 points

4^th – Dedham: 576 points

5^th – Chigwell: 568 points

6^th – St Michaels: 540 points

7^th – Oaklands: 535 points

8^th – Tiptree: 466 points

9^th – Hinguar: 436 points

10^th – St Nicholas: 418 points

11^th – Maylandsea: 396 points
