School Council visit to the Houses of Parliament

Our School Council enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to the Houses of Parliament, where they took part in a workshop and explored one of the most important buildings in the country.

During the workshop, pupils learned how laws are made, took part in a debate activity, and discovered the roles of MPs and Lords. This was followed by a guided tour, where they saw historic rooms and heard stories about the UK’s democratic traditions.

A highlight of the day was meeting our local MP for Epping Forest, Dr Neil Hudson, who has represented the constituency since July 2024. Dr Hudson kindly spent time answering pupils’ thoughtful questions about community issues, the work of an MP, and how young people can use their voices to make a difference.

The trip was a fantastic opportunity for our School Council to see democracy in action and return inspired to continue representing the views of their classmates.
