ISA U11 Girls Football League Finals - 3rd Place!

Oaklands took a team of 9 eager girls to Market Road in Islington for the ISA U11 Girls Football Finals Day on Tuesday 5 May.

Having finished top of their group in Pool B West Essex, they qualified and were up against Pool A East Essex schools also.

In the semi-finals, they faced a very tough opponent in WestBrook Hey School, and did not look daunted by the task at hand. WHS raced into a 2-0 lead, but the girls did not let their heads drop. Vallavi scoring 2 brilliant goals to bring up back level at 2-2. The team had a few chances, but they scored a few more, and we unfortunately lost 5-2.

In the 3rd & 4th place play-off, Oaklands were up against The Gower School, and the team were determined to get the bronze medal, coming out on top with a 7-1 win and a brilliant performance. Goals from Vallavi (X4), Ella, Lily and Poppy brought us the victory. It was not just the goals, but a team effort that was so pleasing to see.

Mr Paine is very proud of what the girls have achieved this year, and the future looks bright!

A huge congratulations to everyone who has contributed this year for the girls football team!
