Upper Kindergarten learn about Frogs
Upper Kindergarten have been learning about Frogs as part of our Minibeast topic.
They started the week with a group chat, where the children watched a short video and PowerPoint. They learnt about each part of the lifecycle in detail as well as learning new language such as "frogspawn" and "froglet".
They also learnt some interesting facts such as a frog has ears and that they drink through their skin! The children then made their own paper frog using a range of materials. Firstly, they painted their paper plate green. Once dry, they used a glue stick to stick the frog's eyes onto the plate using circles. Then the children used a felt tip pen and drew dots for the frog's nose and used a sponge to create the pupils of the frog's eyes.
Lastly, they stuck on the frog's tongue so it could eat "flies". This activity supported the children's fine motor skills.
