Nursery Celebrate Rosh Hashanah

For Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, the Nursery children marked the celebrations by dipping apples into honey, a tradition symbolising hopes for a sweet and happy year ahead.

Each child took a slice of apple, dipped it into the sweet honey and, after taking a bite, said “Shanah Tovah!” There were certainly plenty of big smiles as they enjoyed the taste!

In the afternoon, the children enjoyed creating bright coloured pictures by using apple halves and dipping them in red and green paint. To symbolise the honey from their previous tasting, they added glitter to their apple stencils.
