Reception - The World Around Us
In their topic, The World Around Us, Reception have travelled to Ghana in Africa.
They looked closely at Kente cloth, a traditional cloth / fabric made in Ghana, typically made with bright colours and patterns. Woodpeckers tried their hands at creating their own version of Kente cloth by weaving paper. This was an exercise that really challenge the children’s fine motor skills, having to weave paper over and under, it was fiddly but the children did a fantastic job!
The children finally added some traditional patterns using pens and combined all of our work into one large Kente cloth. A fantastic job, Woodpeckers! Well done.
