Year 3 Stone Age Workshop

Year 3 was visited by Sally Spade, an archaeologist from the Stone Age.

She wanted the children to help her discover facts about the Stone Age using their drama skills and knowledge. The children worked well in groups thinking about inventions, how they farmed, hunted and lived during the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic Ages of this important part of History. They even learnt how to walk and ‘talk’ like a Stone Age adult.

Everyone in Year 3 had a great deal of fun and enjoyed every moment of this wonderful workshop!

In their Art class, Year 3 have been looking at Stone Age cave paintings. They researched how Stone Age people made their own paintings, what materials they used and what they drew on the cave walls.

Year 3 also discovered some of the famous caves themselves, looking at why Stone Age people painted what they did.
