Woodpeckers learn about Chanukah

Woodpeckers learned all about the Jewish festival of lights, Chanukah. We learned about the origins of the story, how there was only enough oil to burn for one day, but it was a miracle that it continued to burn for 8 days. Woodpeckers enjoyed looking at all of the different Chanukah items, such as a Menorah and dreidels, even getting a chance to try playing a game. We learned that foods cooked in oil, for example donuts, are traditionally enjoyed during Chanukah and we even got to eat some which were yummy! Throughout the week, Woodpeckers have been completing many different Chanukah activities, making their very own Chanukah candles! Wishing all those who celebrate a very Happy Chanukah in advance!
