Epping Forest Foodbank Visit

As part of the PSHE curriculum, 5Z visited the Epping Forest Foodbank to learn about the vital role this charitable organisation plays within the community. The children particularly enjoyed discovering how a food bank operates, including the logistics involved, and the important contributions made by volunteers and donors. They explored the warehouse and used their Maths skills to calculate the average budget a family might need to provide a healthy meal. Working in groups, the children also created a three-day menu for a family using the food available. This visit was a valuable and enriching experience, helping to develop the children’s social and moral awareness.
