Throughout Years 3 to 6 our older pupils have many opportunities to develop their confidence and self-esteem. There are special responsibilities such as being a School/Food Council representative, or volunteering to be one of the many playground buddies helping younger children.
Year 6 pupils become School Prefects, and are expected to act as role models for the younger children. Prefect positions include House Captains, Games Captains and Librarians.
The children and their families raise much money during the year for many local and national charities, often with pupils’ ideas for fundraising implemented. Some of our recent projects have supported Crisis and Christmas, Children in Need, the Chigwell Riding Centre for the Disabled, RNLI Lifeboats and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
All children from Years 1 to 6 are divided into Houses. House competitions are held regularly to give pupils the opportunity to work together for a shared goal. The merit point system used throughout the school encourages pupils to achieve high standards in work and behaviour.
