Admission and Withdrawal Procedures
Steps to follow if you wish to register your child for a place at Oaklands School:

  • Telephone the School Office to request a hard copy of the prospectus. You can also download the e-version of the prospectus via the link above.
  • Having read the prospectus, make an appointment to visit the School and discuss your child's entrance with the Headmistress.   Oaklands is non-selective for entry into the Nursery or Reception classes. For entry into the School from Years 1 to 6 we ask you to bring your child for at least half a day, and he/she may have to take a Maths and English test after meeting the Class Teacher and Headmistress.
  • Complete the Registration Form (below) with this prospectus and enclose the non-refundable Registration Fee (£40).   This will ensure that your child is placed on the waiting-list.
  • On confirmation of a place we will ask you to pay a non-refundable deposit of £500.   This will be deducted from your first term's fees.

Please see our detailed Admissions Policy on the Policies page for full details.

It is unavoidable that children sometimes have to move schools or move away from the area. As a parent you must follow the correct Withdrawal Procedure once you have registered a pupil here.  This procedure is detailed on the Registration Form and involves giving a full term's notice in writing at the start of the term.  Not doing so will result in paying fees in lieu of notice.

Please note that school fees are payable termly in advance or by a monthly instalment scheme (details available on request).

The School Office is manned during the majority of school holidays, but prospective parents are asked to leave their requests for interview on the telephone answering machine if it is activated.  Emailed requests are handled every day.
