1W ‘Look Up’ at Space

This month, pupils in 1W look up at space.

The class have explored nebulas, the planets in our solar system and famous astronauts. One well-known astronaut in particular, Mae Jemison, has been the focus of their recent English lessons.

Mae Jemison was the first female black astronaut in space. She was inspired by Sally Ride and Guion Bluford, and she loved Science at school!

Pupils were challenged to write down some facts about Mae Jemison, that they had learnt or researched. Before, writing a biography of her life and achievements.
