1C have been exploring the effects of chalk and oil pastels while creating abstract space pictures. The children have been learning about the planets, meteor showers and nebulas, so we created our own nebulas.
They looked at Peter Thorpe’s work for inspiration and experimented with flicking various tools and brushes loaded with paint onto our scenes.
The children are planning to add imaginative planets and rockets to their pictures next week.
