Speech Day and Prize Giving 2018

On Wednesday 4 July we held our annual Speech Day and Prize Giving, celebrating the many achievements and successes of the pupils throughout the year. The celebration took place in a marquee on the field, on yet another scorching hot day, which was packed with a large audience of family and friends.

The guest speaker this year was Mrs Madaleine Binning from the NSPCC, a leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse. We have worked with the NSPCC previously, and are planning to organise more fundraising events in aid of its work in the very near future. It was great to hear from her and she gave the audience and children a lot to think about.

As well as prize giving, the afternoon was filled with performances from our Years 1 to 6 pupils. The boys choir impressed the audience with their rendition of ‘Hello Muddah Hello Faddah’, ‘Playing on the Beach’ was performed by KS1, the KS2 girls sung a lovely rendition of ‘Salt Water’ and all the pupils sung a very catchy French song ‘Chez Mama Africa’. There were also reports about sports, charity work, expressive arts and from each year group which gave a great overview of the entire year.

A huge congratulations to all of our prize winners and to the pupils who were awarded with their new Roles of Responsibility for next year. You should all be very proud!
