Year 6 have been conducting research on landscape artists from different time periods. They looked at the work of Laurence Stephen Lowry – The Canal Bridge 1949, and Vincent van Gogh – Starry night 1889. They compared the two and looked for any differences they could observe in the two paintings.
Year 6 considered the viewpoints of these artists and were encouraged to discuss all the visual elements. During their activity, they selected one of the artists’ landscapes and drew it in their sketchbooks. They all produced amazing work. These were the results.
