Year 4 experienced a fantastic day at Suntrap Educational Centre. As soon as they arrived they were immersed into the day and were sent on a coordinates challenge, using a compass to orienteer their way around the grounds. They learnt facts and got to hold some of the center’s pets including chickens, a salamander and a snake. After a picnic lunch in the sunshine, they entered Epping Forest and used compasses to find the direction of North and to locate symbols on a map. Everyone had a great day and all the children learnt some key mapping skills to help with their Topic work in school.
