After much excitement and anticipation, for some playing their first game for the school, the team left school for the short journey to the Peter May Centre in Chingford.

Artie Brooks and Cailan Shah represented the school for the first time and their smiles never left their faces from the moment they were selected. In a team comprising of a mix of Year 4-6 boys, the pupils pitted their wits against a strong Normanhurst and Coopersale Hall football teams.

In the first game they played well from the start but tired towards the end, losing the match. On a positive note Luke Ingle scored a lovely goal with some quick footwork.

Coopersale had a very strong side with some very talented players and they proved too tough an opponent for Oaklands’ young team. They won the game but Oaklands showed they are developing an understanding and competitiveness to be able to compete in the future.

Onwards and upwards with lots more sport to look forward to for the rest of the school year.
