On Monday 20 November Oaklands School took part in the ISA London North Swimming Gala at Barnet Copthall Pool.
The team, comprising of girls from Year 4-6, arrived bright and breezy in the morning in anticipation of competing in the first swim event of the year. After a long trip along the M25 and A1, they arrived at their destination.
The girls took part in a thorough warm-up to prepare for their events and took their places in the gallery ready for the commencement of the gala.
In an event full of very strong schools they performed admirably and can be extremely proud of their achievements. The girls were very unlucky to finish just outside the medals in most races, however, Oaklands can look forward to competing in future swimming galas to achieve greater success.
