As part of their topic ‘Caring for the Elderly’, the children in Garden Room visited Mellow Care Home on Monday 29 January. The children sang some of their favourite songs with the residents happily joining in. The class also took with them a selection of traditional stories which the children shared with residents.
The Mellows staff commented on how wonderful it was to see the children and the elderly folk interacting together and are excited to see the rest of the Garden Room children on Friday. The staff who accompanied the children all agree that it was a really worthwhile experience for both the children and the residents and one that we would like to repeat again!
