1R have been reading the ‘Tinga Tinga Tales’, African stories all about how different animals acquired their unique features. To go alongside this, the class painted animals in the style of Edward Tingatinga. First they painted a sunset background using just red and yellow paint, then used stencils on black card to cut out the silhouette of an African animal. Finally Year 1 painted white dots on them in the same style as Edward Tingatinga. Everyone really enjoyed it and the paintings looked great!
