We had a wonderful afternoon on Wednesday 5 December at the annual Christmas Carol Service. The children from Years 1 to 6 gathered at St Mary’s Church Loughton along with a huge crowd of friends and family. The audience were treated to a lovely performance of the Nativity Story, complete with a variety of songs, carols and Bible readings.
KS1 gave a lively rendition of ‘You Can’t Dodge the Census’, complete with actions, while KS2 sung ‘Who Would Imagine A King?’ beautifully. The whole school got everyone truly in the Christmas spirit with ‘Feliz Navidad’, and gave a moving performance of ‘Silent Night’ in remembrance of the remarkable event that happened on Christmas Day during World War 1. Fighting stopped for one day, as German and English soldiers sang carols together and swapped gifts.
Well done to everyone, it was a truly special way to celebrate Christmas! A collection for Mill Grove Family Centre was taken at the end of the service.
