Oaklands KS2 Swimming Gala

On Wednesday 27 March, KS2 pupils took part in the annual Swimming Gala at Loughton Swimming Pool. After weeks of practice to get them ready for the day, there were some expected nerves etched on some faces as parents came in to watch their children swim. Everyone swam with courage and determination and it was so pleasing to see nearly all of our pupils swimming a length in all the strokes. There were some very close races and the timekeepers and judges did an excellent job to filter the results to the scorers to tally up the House points. The morning finished with a new ‘Squadron Relay’ with 2 swimmers from each year group and House competing for their team. It ended a fantastic morning of swimming and the pupils were very pleased to be going back to school for a well deserved lunch!

The overall results were as follows;

Ist Willow 241 points

2nd Beech 175 points

3rd Holly 146 points

4th Sycamore 144 points
