Year 3 recently performed their Rainforest play to the lower school, and, the very next day, to parents. It was a sizeable undertaking with songs, narration, colourful costumes and Oscar worthy acting taking centre stage. The focus was on the rainforest and delicate balance of life within. Aside from the fun of dress rehearsals, the play carried a serious message. The aggressive businessman who appeared early on did his best to turn the trees of the forest into wood and paper but in the end it was the forest creatures who stood up to him. More and more we see the natural world is under threat, so it was pertinent the children enjoyed performing as much as they did while delivering a powerful message.
