Reception Woodpeckers enjoyed some learning activities based around a Gingerbread Man. To begin with they had to find their lost Gingerbread Man! They made their own lost posters, applying their mathematical knowledge and understanding of space and measure to help fill in the Gingerbread Man’s information. After finding their Gingerbread Man, they created a map of the journey he had been on, using their imaginations after a walk around school. Isaac even made some Gingerbread at home!
Woodpeckers also went into the Wild Woods to create symmetrical butterflies using natural materials, learned about capacity and weight by weighing objects using balance scales and cubes, and had plenty of fun in the sunshine!
