Years 4-6 Have A Very Sporty Week!

It’s been a sporty week for years 4-6 as they’ve learnt new skills in Athletics, Cricket and Tennis!

Athletics –

The children have been working really hard to perfect their sprinting technique in Athletics with the year 5 pupils running impressive times. They have also practiced and performed javelin throw, tennis ball throw and long jump. On Friday 7th May, they will be competing against each other in a ‘mini-quad athletics’ event aiming to score as many points as they can.

Cricket –

The children in years 5 and 6 have only had 1 session this far but can already see some impressive skills on display in cricket club. They are learning the fundamental skills of batting, bowling, fielding and wicket-keeping.

Tennis club –

Over the last 3 weeks I have been working closely with year 4 and 6 pupils to perfect their tracking of the ball, getting in an optimal position to hit each shot as well as working on each stroke. They are now consistently hitting rallies and in particular enjoy games like ‘Jail-break’ and ‘Round the world’.
