The children in Upper Kindergarten had a wonderful time exploring the Wildwoods.
They collected leaves and dug up soil, transferring it to the mud kitchen using wheelbarrows to make “mud cakes” and “pies”, participating in imaginative play. The children enjoyed the sensory experience, feeling the different textures and smelling the wild garlic.
Whilst playing, they discovered different ‘minibeasts’ in the soil and tree bark including woodlice and worms. Some of the children participated in outdoor mark-making and decided to brighten up the logs by designing their own pictures using rainbow colours. Afterwards, they all sat together and enjoyed their morning snack and drink.
