Year 1 went on a walk around our local area to look at all the different styles of houses we have in Loughton.
They looked closely at all the different features and we learnt the names of them, such as bungalow, semi-detached and terraced. Lots of the children could identify a house that was the same style as their own. They also looked at what other buildings were on the High Street and what buildings were needed to make a town, such as shops, a train station, supermarkets and churches.
The children impressed the staff with their behaviour, even though they were “exhausted” and felt like they had “walked to Australia”!
