U9 Boys A & B Team Football vs Howe Green House School

On Wednesday 15 January, our Boys A and B teams played a friendly football fixture against our good friends Howe Green House School. After a long drive on the mini-bus, the boys had a lot of energy to burn and were raring to go!

The A team had a very close contest with HGH and it was 0-0 deep into the 2nd half. They got 2 quick fire goals, and we were 2-0 down. The boys, led by birthday boy Lennox didn’t give up, and got a deserved goal, with Lennox playing a lovely through ball to Ammar, who rifled home. 2-1. There was still time on the clock to get a deserved equaliser, and we came forward in numbers, but couldn’t quite get the goal. The team showed great qualities throughout nonetheless.

The B team had a fantastic match against HGH, with Henry, Abir, Omi and Freddie playing their first school football matches for the school. In a very topsy turvy game, Oaklands got in front, then HGH got a few goals to go in front, and it was looking like we couldn’t quite get a win that Oaklands deserved. In the end, goals from Oscar, Ethan and Henry saw us come out 6-5 winners in a great match!

Well done to all our football heroes!
