We had a busy week of netball a few weeks ago which consisted of two big tournaments. The Bancroft’s U11 and the ISA North London U11 Tournament. The Bancroft’s tournament on Wednesday 7 March consisted of us playing 4 matches in our group. Unfortunately, we lost our fantastic defender Annabel in the first couple of minutes of the first match due to a badly sprained ankle.
However, the girls persevered, with many playing positions they had never played before. We unfortunately lost those matches but were close when playing Chigwell B only losing by one goal. We then were put into the plate round of our group and came up against Park school which we won 11-7. Next we played against Bancroft’s and lost by 2 goals making us runner up in the vase cup.
Fridays tournament was an all-day tournament at Redbridge Sports Centre. We had a slightly different team due to injuries and illness and gained two new team members. Thank you to both Estell and Lucy for coming at very short notice. The girls displayed determination, team spirit and some excellent play. We managed to win the first 2 matches against Park and St Mary’s School with some excellent shooting by Hannah, Livvy and Emmy. We unfortunately lost the other three matches to very strong teams who ended up in the finals. The girls all played very well and showed real team spirit I was very proud to take such a well behaved team.
