Year 5 have been developing their communication skills in Debate club. They have debated whether we should ban the internet from school. All the children spoke with confidence and justified their ideas giving great detail. They have learnt to respond to the opposition’s comments and interjections. The club voted and decided that we should not ban the internet at Oaklands as the positives outweighed the negatives. The club is looking forward to their next debate- ‘Should children be allowed their mobile phones in school?’
