This term Year 6 have been conducting research on the everyday life of an Anglo-Saxon. The class had to design their own Saxon home and think about the materials they were going to use. Everyone had to plan, design and label their designs.
In Design and Technology, it was time to actually make the homes using a variety of materials. When all the homes were completed, the whole class got together to constructed a typical Saxon Village. They were challenged to think about water supply, woodlands, farmlands as well as buildings that could be used for banquets and religious festivals. It was a wonderful learning experience.
