On Tuesday 8 October, Year 5 and 6 Girls took part in the LVS Ascot School Football Festival in Windsor. After a very long journey, the team were greeted with beautiful pitches and surroundings in which to plan in and had a whole day of football to look forward to.
In our group of 6 teams, we came up against some tough opposition but managed to finish 4th in our group, qualifying for the trophy cup. We won 2 matches, with some great attacking play resulting in goals for Annabella and Millie. The midfield, comprising of Ava, Maya V and Maya J, worked tirelessly throughout helping the defence and attack on numerous occasions. Freya and Sofia ran their socks off helping to contain the threat from the opposition and Sara stood firm in goal, saving lots of shots.
The girls ended the day with some specialist coaching from Arsenal ladies coaches and received medals and tickets for an Arsenal Ladies match for all their hard efforts.
