This week Lower Kindergarten have been learning about Our bodies/Our senses. Our sensory trays have been extremely popular with the children, especially the scent bottles which included strawberry jam, chocolate powder, coffee, lemon juice, orange juice and vanilla. The children were able to recognise some of the smells and could tell us their preferences for which scents they liked and disliked.
The children made a ‘pizza face’ in cooking this week. To make their ‘pizza faces’ the children used different tools such as a large cutter to create their face shape and a knife to spread the tomato puree. Then they decided which ingredients to use for their eyes, nose and mouth. I can say first hand that the ‘pizza faces’ were very tasty!
