Owls Outing to Hylands Park

Owls had the most amazing outdoor experience. The morning was spent in a ‘secret’ Forest School area led by Justine from Green Earth Learning. The children did mud painting, climbed a fallen tree, played with puppets, did weaving on a huge frame, used a bow saw to cut slices of a branch which thy then decorated as medals or necklaces, swung in hammocks as well as many other fun activities. After a picnic lunch, everyone gathered around the camp fire to toast marshmallows and make popcorn. Everyone had at least a nibble or 2. Then it was a trek through the vast parkland to the adventure playground for climbing, sliding and swinging fun.

Owls decided it was their best day ever however, going by the silence on the journey back to school, it was clearly a very tiring day in the fresh air.
